How's business? A warm smile emerges on his face. "Business is good." The business of which I am speaking is the business of being Brad Pitt. Is it cool being you? He laughs reluctantly, "Yes, I do believe it is cool. Being me is cool. That's true."

As I sit there studying his face, I am remembering the first time I really saw Brad. "Oh, that thing. See what I mean? Who can predict what would work, you know?" He's speaking of the movie "Cool World". It was a combination of animation and live action. I saw a theatrical poster of his character leaning on a wall and peeking around a corner and I thought, "Who's that guy?" He's been in my mind and heart ever since.

"But you rarely ever call me. I don't understand that," he says with some frustration. Beauty without hubris. That is what I love about Brad. That and Meet Joe Black. The most memorable quotes? "[M]illeniums in a place with no doors" and "I promise you, you'll always have what you found in the coffee shop."

"See?" he says with wonder and amusement.
